Kenyan Governor Wants To Include Hennessy In Coronavirus Care Packages

A governor from Nairobi, Kenya, is all over social media right now after he announced that he wanted the government to include small bottles of Hennessy, a type of alcoholic drink, in food packs that are being distributed to the city’s poor families.

The hilarious request comes amidst the coronavirus pandemic, which has left millions of daily wage laborers without any income.

On Tuesday, Governor Mike Sonko said he wanted to add small bottles of the alcoholic beverage in the packages.

In a video that was tweeted by Citizen TV Kenya, Sonko can be heard saying:

“From the research which has been conducted by World Health Organization (WHO) and various health organizations, it has been revealed that alcohol plays a very major role in killing the coronavirus or any sort of virus.”

Dr. Githinji Gitahi, was very fast to comment on the hilarious wants of the governor.

Dr. Gitahi, the CEO of Amref Health Africa, said:

“Please completely ignore clowning of a major global pandemic taking lives & putting extreme pressure on households. Dump this the way you would dump your used #COVID19 #mask — never to be recovered! @MOH_Kenya needs to condemn this as this is not an ordinary citizen!”

The WHO (World Health Organization) said that drinking alcohol will not protect anyone from the deadly coronavirus.

Excessive alcohol will add more health problems.

Sonko, the governor, has previously been accused of drug trafficking and money laundering.

Prison authorities in Kenya also claim that the governor escaped from a maximum facility 20 years ago.
