In a shocking incident, a 24-year-old Dalit woman in Punjab’s Muktsar district Dragged Out Of Office & kidnapped in broad daylight and was then raped. The horrifying incident took place in on March 25.

A man can be seen dragging the women out of her office in a CCTV video footage, captured from a shop adjacent to the office. She struggled trying to break free and shouted for help. But no one tried to help the woman. Five days after the incident, the woman got an FIR registered in the case.

The accused, who is believed to be from the same village as the woman, is absconding along with an alleged accomplice, according to the police.

The young Dalit woman and her father have met the National Commission for Scheduled Castes, which has summoned a top police officer from Muktsar to explain the delay in apprehending the accused.
