The Indian Railways is providing a better service since few months. The Railway Officials are working very hard to develop the Indian Railways and provide the best service to the passengers. We have seen many incidents where the Indian Railway Officials reacted immediately to solve the problems of the passengers.

The Government of India has planned to provide WiFi in railway stations all over India and implemented in few busy and important stations as well. We have seen ‘Make in India‘ coaches with a new look and best interior. In the same way, Indian Railways has come forward with a new initiative.

Railway minister Suresh Prabhu launches “clean my coach” service

The Indian Railways on Friday launched “Clean My Coach” initiative as part of its ‘Swachh Rail, Swachh Bharat’ campaign. As per the scheme which is part of the rail budget 2016-17 proposals, Train passengers can now send an SMS to a prescribed number if their coach requires cleaning. They can send an SMS to 58888 for cleaning the coaches.

“It is a new beginning in cleanliness efforts with the use of technology,” Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu said. Passengers can also use Android app “Cleanmycoach Indian Railways” or web page “cleanmycoach.com” for lodging a request.

Passenger’s request is immediately acknowledged through SMS on the mobile phone along with a code. A message will also be sent to the on-board housekeeping staff along with details like coach number. The housekeeping staff contacts the passenger and carries out cleaning as per demand. If the passenger is satisfied, he discloses the code through SMS and the complaint is then treated as closed.
