A 50-year-old man was arrested by police for raping an eight-year-old girl for three days at Hussaini Alam in Hyderabad. Mohammad Siraj, a resident of Fateh Darwaza has sexually assaulted the 8-year-old from his neighborhood by luring her with money and chocolates.

Mohammed Siraj allegedly raped his neighbour’s daughter on three occasions on December 31, January 2 and 6. The mother was shocked when she came to know about this incident three days ago. She immediately lodged a complaint against Siraj at Hussaini Alam Police station. The doctors at the Government Maternity Hospital confirmed that the girl was raped.

Mohammed Siraj is unmarried and works as a blacksmith. He moved in as the neighbor of victim’s family last year and was very friendly with the girl and used to often call her into his house and give money to buy chocolates. He took advantage of the girl when she came to his house alone on December 31 and took the girl home again for the next two days, police said.

“The girl’s mother Farzana Begum noticed that the girl was unusually quiet and withdrawn. On Wednesday, the mother asked her what had happened. The victim then told her what Sajid had done to her. Based on the woman’s complaint we sent the girl for medical examination and report confirmed that she was sexually assaulted. Siraj has been arrested,’’ Inspector A Balaji of Hussaini Alam Police Station said.

The girl said that – in the beginning, he fondled her and the girl did not know what was going on. Later he raped her between December 31 and January 6, after which the girl stopped going to his house.

After his arrest, Siraj confessed his heinous crime. The police is trying to find out whether he had targeted other minor girls in his neighborhood.
