Indian Railways has been setting new chapters in the history. India’s fastest train ‘Gatimaan Express’ has been launched Today. Ministry of Railways tweeted “The launch of this heralds a new era of high-speed rail travel in India.” Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu inaugurated the train by remote from his office on Tuesday.

Gatimaan Express Timings & Fare:

For the inaugural journey, Gatimaan Express would depart from Hazrat Nizamuddin station at 10 AM and reach Agra Cantt station at 11:40 AM. The journey would be completed in 100 minutes. However, from Wednesday onwards, it would leave Delhi in the morning at 8:10 AM and reach Agra Cantt at 9:50 AM.

AC Chair Shatabdi costs commuters Rs 515 for one-way journey. Gatimaan Express would be slightly higher. Rs 690 would be charged on one-way journey. Executive class seats would be costlier. They would be charged at Rs 1,395.

Gatimaan Express launched

Gatimaan Express is a semi-bullet train. The train will operate between Hazrat Nizamuddin station and Agra Cantonment station six days a week, except on Friday. Gatimaan Express contains two executive AC chair cars and eight AC chair car coaches. Gatimaan is fit to run at 160 km per hour.

“IRCTC has made arrangement for deploying train hostesses on board the train. This train will see improved catering and will have options of different kinds of cuisines,” the Railway Ministry added. The fare for a single AC chair car seat will be around Rs.750, and that for the executive AC chair car seat Rs.1,500.
