ISRO-NASA To Jointly Launch Satellite To Study Earthquakes And Cimate Change

Scientists from Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) and U.S. equivalent, NASA came together to join hands to develop a satellite. This Satellite will be dedicated to the study of the climatic changes with special focus particular things like Earth Quakes etc.

ISRO-NASA To Jointly Launch Satellite

In future, these two groups work together on many other projects including Mars Mission. These space agencies are working together for the first time on this project. They revealed that they are going to work further also on some particular projects.

The name of the satellite that NASA and ISRO jointly developed will be known as NISAR that means NASA ISRO Synthetic Aperture Radar in full. This satellite is expected to note the measurements of some complex processes of Earth and this will also include the readings of Earth Quakes and other similar patterns like volcanoes, landslides, melting ice sheets, tsunami and other natural disturbances caused by mankind and nature.

In this NISAR satellite development, the payload is consisting of L and S bands in which L-band is provided by NASA and S-band components will be provided by ISRO. This satellite is expected to launch in the year 2020 or 2021 depending on the completion of the project.

There are more 130 satellites working on this observation of Earth`s activities. NISAR is not the first to work on these climatic changes on Earth. But NISAR is expected to mark a significant milestone for better understanding the Earth`s Activities like seal level changes, landslides monitoring and biomass estimate.

This collaboration of these two groups NASA and ISRO is expected to boost the study of climatic changes on earth. Scientists entered 2015 as the year on record back to 1890`s. How long NISAR will remain deployed is not mentioned.
