Telangana CM Seeks Rs 25,000 Cr From BRICS Bank for Hyderabad

Speaking about the development of Hyderabad as an international city, KCR said, “We have spent Rs 40, 000 crore on various welfare programmes that directly benefit the poorer sections of the society and planning to borrow Rs 25,000 from BRICS bank (New Development Bank, set by up the BRICS countries) exclusively for the development of Hyderabad. We need bigger roads, better traffic systems, more bus stations, railway stations, parks, 500 public toilets, 200 markets and cleaner air.”

“The bank’s President, KV Kamath, has agreed to consider our request and sanction sufficient funds for Hyderabad’s development,” KCR added. KCR said he had made the request to the bank when he visited China a few months ago.

The bank was floated by BRICS countries Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa, with a combined population of 300 crore, to address development finance needs in these countries.

Exuding confidence that TRS will secure sufficient majority to get the mayor post, KCR said Majlis is supporting his party and winning the election is a foregone conclusion. KCR assured that his government will provide world class civic amenities to the citizens and make Hyderabad a global city. “Voters must realize that all these welfare programmes and development are possible only if the TRS is given power as ruling party can leverage its resources for the city.”

Since his campaigning for the party in the GHMC elections may create traffic problems to city people, he chose to address people through e-campaign to reach out to the voters in the city.
