Central Board of Secondary Education is going to conduct the University Grants Commission (UGC-NET) National Eligibility Test for Junior Research Fellowship & Eligibility for Assistant Professor and has released the application forms to register for the National Eligibility Test (NET) 2015. The National Eligibility Test is scheduled to be held on 28th June 2015 (Sunday). All interested and eligible candidates for National Eligibility Test (NET) can register from 16th April on the official website of CBSE NET or from the link provided below.

UGC  National Eligibility Test (NET) 2015:

National Eligibility Test is to determine eligibility for college & university level lectureship and for award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) for Indian nationals in order to ensure minimum standards for the entrants in the teaching profession and research. CBSE is conducting this NET in 78 subjects at 74 selected university centres around the country. The Examination is conducted in Humanities (including languages), Social Sciences, Forensic Science, Environmental Sciences, Computer Science and Applications and Electronic Science. NET is for determining the eligibility of candidates for the award of Junior Research Fellowship/Lectureship in Science subjects and is conducted jointly with the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), New Delhi. Candidates who qualify for the award of Junior Research Fellowship are eligible to pursue research in the subject of their post-graduation or in a related subject. The candidates qualifying for Lectureship will not be considered for award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF).

Eligibility Criteria for National Eligibility Test (NET):

Education Qualification:

• Candidates who have secured at least 55% marks in Master’s Degree OR equivalent examination from universities/institutions recognised by UGC  in Humanities (including languages) and Social Science, Computer Science &Applications, Electronic Science etc.

• The Other Backward Classes(OBC) belonging to non-creamy layer/Scheduled Caste(SC)/Scheduled Tribe(ST)/ persons with disability(PWD) category candidates who have secured at least 50% marks (without rounding off) in Master’s degree or equivalent examination are eligible for this Test.

• The Ph.D. degree holders whose Master’s level examination had been completed by 19th September 1991(irrespective of date of declaration of result) shall be eligible for a relaxation of 5% in aggregate marks (i.e. from 55% to 50%) for appearing in NET.

Age limit:

For Junior Research Fellowship: Not more than 28 years as on 01.06.2015. A relaxation up to 5 years is provided to the candidates belonging to OBC. Three years relaxation in age will be permissible to the candidates possessing L.L.M. Degree. Total age relaxation on the above ground(s) shall not exceed five years under any circumstances.

Assistant Professor: There is no upper age limit for applying for eligibility for Assistant Professor.

National Eligibility Test Paper Pattern and Schedule 2015:

• NET exam is divided in to Three Sessions
• Total Marks: 350
• paper 1 and 2 is Consists100 Marks and Paper 2 is Consists 150 Marks
• Paper 1: consists of 60 questions out of which 50 questions to be attempted.
• Time duration for paper 1 is 1¼ Hours (09:30 A.M. to 10:45 A.M.)
• Paper 2: Consists of 50 questions all are compulsory.
• Time duration for paper 2 is 1¼ Hours (11:15 A.M. to 12:30 P.M.)
• Paper 3: Consists of 75 questions all are compulsory.
• Time duration for paper 3 is 2½ Hours (02:00 P.M. to 04:30 P.M.)
