In a tragic incident, a 19-year-old engineering student at Jeedimetla in Hyderabad died after he “accidentally” fell from a three-floor hostel while attempting to jump to an adjacent building. The deceased identified as Sai kiran, a native of Khammam district and studying in Narsimha Reddy Engineering College, had a foot on the hostel wall but failed. The entire incident was also recorded two CCTV camera. The police have obtained the footage and an investigation is ongoing.

“Sai’s friend had crossed over by leaping to the adjoining building, but for Sai it was unfortunate. As per preliminary investigation, it was a habitual practice for some of students to jump to adjacent buildings (hostels). But it seems it was the first time that Sai had tried such an act,” Petbasheerabad Police Station Inspector D V Ranga Reddy said.
