Chennai Floods: Watch How Air Force Choppers Air-Drop Food Packages In Flood-Hit Areas

The Army, the Air Force and the Coast Guard have been called in to rescue flood-hit residents in Chennai and Kancheepuram, where a week of torrential rain has left many areas marooned. Among the worst-hit areas in the city is Tambaram, where many streets are completely submerged and nearly 2,000 residents are trapped in their homes without essentials like food and water. Air Force choppers are being used to air-drop food and drinking water in worst-hit areas.

In the video, you can see how people are waiting for help & Food. More than 100 boats have been deployed to evacuate more residents and shift them to safer areas. Flights to and out of Chennai have been cancelled and all operations at the Chennai airport have been stopped till December 6. Over 50 trains have either been cancelled or diverted due to flooding of rail tracks at several places. Most supermarkets and hotels across the city were either shut or had run out of stock.
