The recently released Indian Sportspersons Salaries will leave you stunned. Would you believe that Ace Indian Wrestler Yogeshwar Dutt is earning more than Indian Cricketers MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli? Yes, it’s true. Olympic Bronze medalist Yogeshwar Dutt surprisingly tops the list among Indians, earning Rs 1.65 lakh per minute during his 2015 Pro Wrestling League stint.

Dutt has India’s highest average of salary per minute. Dutt is in the seventh position on the list of players whose average was determined by the salary-per-minute parameter. Tennis legends Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal is the highest earning players with Rs 26 crore each for playing in the International Premier Tennis League (IPTL).

Dutt ahead of cricketers M S Dhoni and Virat Kohli, despite their widespread popularity. The duo earns Rs 75,000 per minute. Out of Rs. 823 crore salaries paid by franchises in eight different sports leagues in India, Domestic players earn Rs 296 crore via salaries, whereas foreign players sack around Rs 527 crore.

A total of 857 players, with 521 Indians and 336 foreigners are given salaries. The report is based on analysis of Rs. 1,100 crore budget for 857 players in eight different leagues. IPTL has the highest average salary of Rs 5.5 crore per player, closely followed by the Indian Premier League (IPL).
