Don’t Forget To Do These Two Things Before 31st March 2018, If You’re A SBI Customer!!
State Bank of India is the biggest public sector bank in the country and it consolidated five of its associate banks, State Bank of Bikaner & Jaipur, State Bank of Hyderabad, State Bank of Mysore, State Bank of Patiala, State Bank of Travancore. This was the largest consolidation in the Banking in the industry and SBI secured its place in the top 50 banks in the world.
SBI asked all of the consolidated bank customers to apply for a new chequebook as the current ones would be invalid after 31st March 2018. The bank took it to its official Twitter handle to announce the same saying,
“All customers of erstwhile Associate Banks (E-AB) and Bharatiya Mahila Bank are requested to apply for SBI chequebooks by 31st March 2018, to avoid any inconvenience. The old E-AB / BMB chequebooks will not be valid post 31.03.2018.”
The consolidated banks include State Bank Of Hyderabad, State Bank of Travancore, State Bank of Mysore, the State Bank of Patiala, Bharatiya Mahila Bank, State Bank of Bikaner and Jaipur and the old chequebooks from the above said banks would be made invalid from 31st March 2018

Recently the bank also announced the reduction in the charges for non-maintenance of Average Monthly Balance in savings accounts which is in effect from 1st of April.
The charges for non-maintenance of AMB is reduced from 50 to 15 per month which excludes GST in Urban areas and in Semi-urban and rural areas the charges reduced from 40 to Rs. 12 and Rs. 10 per month respectively which excludes GST.
