Haryana’s sensation ‘Gurmeet Ram Rahim’ arrest has alarmed the whole North-Indian states from a couple of days, the crowd unleashed a spree of violence soon after the Panchkula’s court verdict went against this self-claimed godman-baba. There raised a question in the Gurmeet team that who is the next chief of Dera Sacha Sauda?

The answer is Honeypreet Insan. She is the adopted daughter of Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh. She dearly quotes herself as ‘Papa’s Angel’ and is extremely close to Gurmeet Ram Rahim. Ever since she has joined Dera Sacha Sauda, her popularity and power have been immense. She handles a lot of tasks related to Dera Suda.

She has absconded after Gurmeet Singh’s arrest. Coming to the news, a CCTV footage of a woman in Burqa walking briskly in Lajpat Nagar’s M block is believed to be Honeypreet Insan. However, the video has gone viral on social media. Honeypreet Insan, originally Priyanka Taneja, was a close ally of the self-styled godman and was even spotted with him at the CBI court during his trial and also accompanied him in the special chopper that took Singh from Rohtak to Panchkula.

Soon, reports followed that may have fled to Nepal. The Haryana Police had named her as one of the 43 persons “wanted” for the violent outbreaks in the state following Ram Rahim’s conviction in August this year. She has, however, been on the run since her adoptive father was jailed.

Police have begun the investigation, into the CCTV footage recovered from Delhi, to ascertain if Honeypreet Insan was the burqa-clad woman who visited lawyer Pradeep Kumar Arya on 25 September.

“The Panchkula Police had come with an arrest warrant for her. It was suspected that she was hiding in house number A9 in Greater Kailash Enclave. The house was raided, but she was not found there,” said Romil Baaniya, DCP (south-east).

Her lawyer, Pradeep Kumar Arya, filed an anticipatory bail petition in the Delhi High Court on Monday, sparking reports that she may already be in Delhi. Delhi Police and the Panchkula Police jointly raided the residence in Greater Kailash Enclave, allegedly owned by the Dera.

The Haryana Commissioner of Police later said the media had mistaken the residence as belonging to Honeypreet. The raids were aimed at tracking down Aditya and Pawan Insan, two other close aides of the convicted Dera Sacha Sauda sect chief.
