Moral policing, sexism and religious intolerance are very common in our society, and this is even more on social media. Mainly, there will be always some or the other news regarding moral policing every now and then. But sometimes, it becomes very hard and sufferable for the people who face it in our country.

People have become so wild on social media sites these days that they think, they have the authority to tell you how to live your life, i.e, what to wear and how to be. Not so long ago, the Indian fast bowler Mohammed Shami was thrashed for uploading a picture with his wife where she was wearing a gown, which indeed termed him ‘anti-Islamic’.

And now again Irfan Pathan has been recently slammed in the social media for the same unwanted reasons. Irfan Pathan has become another target for trolls after he uploaded a picture with his wife.

Irfan Pathan tied the knot last year and he’s definitely enjoying the married life. The happy couple just uploaded a picture which had Irfan and his wife posing for the camera. As cute as the picture is, it got a lot of flak from social media.

Instead of appreciating the beauty of the picture, some extremists criticized Irfan and his wife for using nail polish and uncovered arms which as per them is against the religion.

The couple was sitting in their car and Pathan’s wife had her face half-covered with her hands. This picture has trigged many people across all major social platforms and Irfan is being called as ‘un-Islamic’ for clicking such a picture.

The comments ranged from advising him to remove the picture to slamming him for not being ‘a good Muslim’. Irfan was castigated for not being a “good Muslim” and a comment read, “WTF Tell her to cover her arms. Being a Muslim and being a Pathan it’s your duty to do so.”

Yes, you read that right. There are people telling Irfan how to ‘keep’ his wife covered.

And how unIslamic it is.

But fortunately, there were some people who supported Irfan and told him not to pay heed to these nonsensical comments.

However, the Indian fast bowler Pathan taking a stand on all these haters in a befitting reply to his detractors again, on Wednesday tweeted just 1 sentence; showing that hatred cannot win against love.

This amazing counter attack is an answer to the moral police that his wife will have all the liberty in the world to decide her dresses and he is not going to curb her freedom just because some people get offended by it.
