This Is What BSF Jawan’s Wife Did To Meet Her Husband Who Failed To Contact Her

BSF Tej Bahadur Yadav’s video went viral on social media this year when he complained of the quality of food being served to Soldiers. His video was aired on all TV news channels and was soon discussed all over the country.

The case took multiple turns in following days and the BSF later said that Yadav was habitual offender of absenteeism without permission, chronic alcoholism and often misbehaved with superior officers. It was also reported that the Jawan was allotted with a plumber’s duty after his video had made everyone question BSF’s management.

Sharmila Devi, his wife filed a habeas corpus plea saying she failed to contact her husband for three days. In the plea, the soldier’s wife Sharmila said she was worried about his safety and pleaded that her husband be produced before the court.

Earlier this month, Sharmila alleged that her husband has been detained by the BSF. She lives with her son in Haryana’s Rewari. Sharmila claimed her husband told her on February 7 that he was being taken to an unknown location. The family members haven’t been able to get in touch with him ever since.

However, following High Court’s direction on February 10, the BSF allowed Mr. Yadav’s wife to meet him and also stay overnight for two days.

The couple met at Jammu and Kashmir’s Samba area where Yadav was posted. After meeting her husband, she told the Delhi High Court on Wednesday that she had met her husband and was convinced that he was safe.

“It has come to an end. If you (Government) go by the formalities, things will never end. Look the wife met her husband and now she herself does not want to press the issue further.” the bench remarked.
