This Guy Posted A Morphed Image Of Yogi Adityanath On Facebook And His Friends Got Him Arrested
Since the time Yogi Adityanath has been elected as the CM of UP, a lot is being said about him. He’s quite controversial and this is the reason why opposition leaders, journalists, and people are opposing his win.
Some claim that Yogi is anti-Muslim, owing to his speeches that went viral on social media; people fear that the minority population in UP might be forced to leave.
In India, there are innumerable examples of how activism on social media has gotten people in trouble. Back in 2012, two girls in Mumbai were arrested for writing a Facebook post against the famous Indian politician, Bal Thackeray and right now, another man fell in the same pit.
Recently, a 22-year-old guy named “Rinku Gupta” who is a resident of Ghatkopar area in Maharashtra posted a morphed image of Yogi Adityanath, and his friends got him arrested.
Yes, you heard it right!
The image was a warrior king with the face of the Yogi.
As per reports, his friends immediately informed Sambhaji Brigade, an organization that demand reservation for the Maratha community. Next day, members from the organization went to Rinku’s house and asked him to apologize.
Gupta immediately apologized and deleted the post being intimidated and scared of the whole incident.
“However, they insisted that he should face legal action and brought him to the police station,” a senior police officer told Indian Express.
The organization said that Gupta’s post had hurt their sentiments.
Gupta is now booked under section 295 for injuring or defiling place of worship with intent to insult the religion of any class.
It’s shocking how these groups are harassing people in the name of religion and belief. Social media websites are commonly used by people to share their ideas, and as far as we know, their ideologies are their own.
