Reliance Jio has already disrupted the Indian telecom space with the launch of its 4G LTE services, and now the company aims to extend the 4G services to 5G. Reliance Jio is ‘Future-Ready’. The telecom company is already making its investments in technologies of the future. The company in its third quarter statement said that it has built a mobile-video network and is providing voice-over-IP (essentially where voice calls can be made using an internet connection). “It has built a future-ready network which can easily deploy 5G and beyond technology in the last leg,” the statement said.
Mukesh Ambani said “I am also delighted by our country’s eagerness to adapt to a digital life as witnessed by the record-breaking launch of Jio. Its comprehensive ecosystem has enabled millions of Indians to lead a richer life through its offerings.”
To keep pace with that Jio is planning to launch JioTV, JioCinema, and JioMusic. The company plans to change a normal TV into a smart one through its JioTV applications. “TV viewing can wait for you; you don’t need to run around for it,” another company official said.
5G is the fifth generation of wireless networks which are expected to offer not just more speed for end users and also have the capacity to connect the billions of devices like driverless cars and household appliances which will connect to the internet in the near future.
In JioTV one can catch programs and movies up to past seven days, anytime. It so far has 360 plus channels in 15 languages in its bouquet. Though the company did not reveal the launch date of any of the new products, officials claim they will surely revolutionize Indian lifestyle once it is available for the public.
