There was a time when politicians won elections when they promise to uplift their caste or religion. Then came the Era when they promised the progress of everyone.

Now is the Era when politicians are promising up to fight corruption and bring back the black money stacked in foreign banks. But it’s been very common to the people to hear and see some misleading tactics and gimmicks played by the leaders to grab more votes on their side.

Recently, with all the desperation for votes, SP candidate, Sujat Alam hit himself with a shoe while addressing a rally in Bulandshahr.

It all started when Sujat Alam saying in a melodramatic tone, “I am folding my hands and begging you to spare me for my wrong deeds.”

Later, he soon took out his shoe and started beating himself and said,

I beat myself with a shoe when people started saying that politicians never return after they win polls. I told them if I do not come back, then beat me with my shoe.

Well, this was a gimmick to grab more votes and that’s what Sujat admitted while giving an interview and said,

An elderly man came to me after I hit myself and he cried. He said he would vote for me. It’s obvious that such things work.
