A brave young woman has decided to take on her cyber blackmailer head on with a gutsy Facebook post, and she’s got the world’s support with her.

Taruna Aswani, a 26-year-old woman residing in the US, was threatened by a cyber bully who told her he would leak private photos and videos that she had reportedly sent to her boyfriend. That is unless she sent him her nudes.

“I have access to your all your friends/social media and family and co-workers…contacts that u have and I think some will be happy and some embarrassed to see it”

This is what she received in an email from him. While many women give in to the demands of the blackmailer, fearing insult and humiliation.

In a brave act, instead of cowering to his ridiculous demands, Taruna Aswani stood up to the blackmailer in a powerful Facebook post announcing she wasn’t afraid of him.

“As embarrassing as the videos may be ( they were sent to my boyfriend at the time ) I choose to stand up to this man”, she wrote in a Public Facebook post.

In the post, she also provides screenshots of the email, in which he claims he is thousands of miles away from her Maryland address. Instead of hiding, she has asked the world to “share this post with as many people as you know to get the word out” so that someone, somewhere might be able to locate the “sick pervert.”

Taruna attached screenshots of a mail which read, “All I am saying is if you want me to keep quiet on this and don’t let the world(social media, Work place,family and friends) know then you have to excite me”.

She wrote in her post that, “I do this so that other women may take a lesson to stand up to bullies and low life’s like this and may get the confidence to stand up as well in case he is known to us and is targeting all of us, but we’re either too scared, ashamed or clueless in how to manage or handle such situations.”

According to Aswani’s post, she has already hired a detective but has requested social media users to share her post as much as possible so that more people know about this man and his maligned intentions.

She has also requested Internet users to text her any information they acquire of him so that it can help her ‘in nabbing this sick pervert’.

Apart from lauding Aswani for being courageous and taking the bold decision, social media users have offered help to connect Aswani with cyber security firms.

Several online users have urged her to ‘stay strong’ and fight it out till the end.
