Watch: PM Narendra Modi Breaks Down And Becomes Emotional While Speaking In A Public Meeting In Goa
India Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who returned on Sunday from a 2-day trip to Japan has landed on Goa soil to lay foundation steps for Greenfield International Airport and few other projects. PM Modi went to Japan trip after making a bold decision of scrapping 500 and 1000 notes. He returned to a very different country than the one he left behind two days ago.
When he left on the tour his war on black money was being hailed as a master stroke unprecedented in India’s fiscal history. When he returned he was being roasted over the coals for not planning the execution with millions of citizens stranded without legitimate currency for buying essential daily goods and services.
He responded and opened up to the situation and the attack of harassed citizens and political opponents fare at a public meeting in Goa. Modi displayed his other side while addressing the public. All Indians have just 1 image of Modi in their minds and i.e. ‘Tough Taskmaster’. He spoke about the issue of demonization and black money and suddenly he broke down.
PM Modi asked for 50 days moratorium from the honest citizen to expose the dishonest and the corrupt, and Modi even choked momentarily. Everyone was surprised to see the “Fighter” become so “Emotional”. In his speech he said that he didn’t become the PM just for the sake of the chair; he said he had to leave his home, family and whatever he had, for the nation.
Modi further added: “People like Rahul Gandhi who were earlier involved in 2G scam and Koyla scam and now, they have to stand in queues for getting even Rs 4,000 exchanged. Yes, I also feel the pain. These steps taken were not a display of arrogance. I have seen poverty and understand people’s problems.”
