Denied Stretcher, This Woman Forced To Drag Paralysed Husband To First Floor At Andhra Govt. Hospital
In the past couple of months, we come across many incidents where medical staff has been indifferent to the plight of patients. Be it the Odisha man who had to carry the body of his dead wife or a UP teenager who died on his father’s shoulders.
Now, here is another case has been reported from Andhra Pradesh government hospital. A woman in Andhra Pradesh was forced to drag her husband to the first floor Guntakal Govt. Hospital at Anantapur of AP after she was allegedly denied a stretcher to carry her husband on Thursday.

Going into details, Srinivasa Chary, 45, suffering from symptoms of gastroenteritis. His wife, Sree Vani, 40, brought him to the hospital. The staff there bluntly told her that they did not have stretchers. Left with no choice, she dragged her husband to the concerned department on the first floor.
“I told them that I will push the stretcher. But, the staff did not provide the stretcher,” Vani said
“There were five stretchers available in the hospital at the time of the incident and I came to know about this when everything was over” says Mallikarjun Reddy, hospital-in-charge.

Chary has been paralyzed after he suffered a stroke some time back. He used to work as a security guard in Hyderabad.
After knowing the incident, Hospital administrative officer Dr. Mallikharjun said he would inquire into the incident and initiate disciplinary action against all those responsible for the inhuman act. The hospital authorities promised to take action against the erring staff after local MLA Jitender Goud visited the ward.
