REVEALED: The News Of Gujarat Diamond Merchant Surrendering Rs 6,000 Crore Is FAKE

Just a couple of days ago, an unverified report went viral on social media, stating that Surat-based diamond merchant and businessman surrendering 6000 crores in cash after Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s demonetization move.

Everyone praised it, flying across the online space congratulating both the businessman and the Modi for such an outcome of the November 8 surprise for the sudden demolition of black money.

Well, it turns out that the news is, in fact, a fake news. The diamond merchant has denied the reports of him giving up a huge amount of cash.

The actual reality came out when contact was made with the office of the diamond business tycoon. The whole story of surrendering of cash turned out to be fake and the confirmation was made by InUth web portal that communicated with the office. As per the official, local media has already reported such messages on social media to be fake.

However, when a local news channel approached him, he denied any such report saying:

“I am a diamond merchant and into import-export business. Mine is not a local business,” he said in Gujarati, adding that there’s no question of money disclosure.

Earlier this year, the businessman had donated 200 crores towards the education of girls in the country. He also made news when he gifted cars and flats to his employees on Diwali.

Here’s a video of Laljibhai Patel denying the false claim:

He’s the same person who purchased the controversial suit of PM Modi which grabbed interest and attraction of all and sundry during Barack Obama’s India visit. Just to inform, having the net worth of about $480 million, Laljibhai Patel is India’s 7th richest jeweler.
