5 Simple Tips To Identify Fake Rs.10 Coin And Differentiate It From The Real One
Rs. 10 fake coins are spreading rapidly. We all may have to face the Fake Rs.10 Coin in our Daily life. Earlier there is a rumor that Rs 10 coins had been declared invalid by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and several shop owners and people denied in accepting the coins.
Recently, a racket of fake 10 rupee coins was busted by the crime branch. The racketeers operated and circulated fake coins in Delhi and NCR. The fake coins are circulated in larger scale in the market. However, with the video and circulars, you can identify the state of validity.
Recently, Delhi crime branch has recovered 800 coins of 10 rupees each, 10 dyes used for minting coins, two hydraulic machines, and raw materials. A total seizure of Rs 8,000 was made.

The first and foremost Circular released by RBI during the release of the coin describes the pattern and text of the coin and it must carry the following features:
Obverse (Front side of the coin):
The face of the coin shall bear the Lion Capitol of Ashoka Pillar with the legend “सत्यमेव जयते” inscribed below, flanked on the left periphery with the word “भारत” in Hindi and on the right periphery with the word “INDIA” in English. The bottom portion contains the year in International numerals.
Reverse (Back side of the coin):
In the upper periphery, 10 Numbers outward radiating patterns depict growth and connectivity. In the centre it shall bear the Rupee symbol “`” and the lower periphery contains the denominational value “10” in International numerals.

Though various circulars are released later, the above physical features remained statutory.

However, there are rumors spreading over the contingency of the coins. RBI clarified the features and the reasons behind the release of various outlooks of 10 rupee coins.
But one can claim those coins with above features as fake if the year mentioned on it is 2011 onwards.
The vital factors that can be considered are (if they’re 2011 onwards):
#1. Real Coins consist of 10 strips whereas Fake coin with 15 Strips.
#2. There are no Horizontal lines in real coins. Whereas Fake coins have 2 lines above and below Ashoka emblem.
#3. India & Bharat are written on both sides of the coins. Fake coins have those words written side by side.
#4.There is a “₹” symbol on the Silver portion of the coin. In fake coin, you cannot find any symbol.
#5. Number 10 is written on the lower portion of the coin. Whereas fake coins have 10 number in the middle.
Note: Remember! These above factors are valid if you consider the coin that’s beyond 2011
As we know that RBI often releases coins with various designs based on the event or occasion, these are the various types of 10 rupee coins released till now.
The central piece was nickel polished. After that, both the pieces were pressed using two different dyes on both sides of the coin, in a hydraulic machine.
