Over “Hindu Pakistan” Remark, Shashi Tharoor Cautioned By Congress

On Wednesday, During an event in Thiruvananthapuram, Congress leader Shashi Tharoor gave a statement which raised controversy against him, He said that if BJP will win in upcoming election 2019, the BJP will rewrite the Constitution and pave the way for the creation of a “Hindu Pakistan.”
After this controversial remark by Mr. Shashi Tharoor’s BJP got a one more chance to target opposition party and a huge uproar has been created by BJP over Congress leader and sought an apology from Congress president Rahul Gandhi for the “attack on Indian democracy and Hindus.”

After the Tharoor’s remarks BJP spokesman, Sambit Patra gave a statement and called it “extraordinary” as it was an “attack on the Indian democracy and Hindus.”
Besides this, the statement has been defended by the former union minister, he said, “I don’t see what exactly I need to apologize for BJP’s point of view”
In a Facebook post-Mr. Tharoor argued that the BJP and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh’s idea of a “Hindu Rashtra” was the “mirror image” of Pakistan.

“I have said this before and I will say it again. Pakistan was created as a state with a dominant religion, that discriminates against its minorities and denies them equal rights. India never accepted the logic that had partitioned the country.

However, Mr. Tharoor’s controversial remark has been refused by his party congress. Congress leader Randeep Surjewala said in a statement that India’s values and fundamentals are an unmistakable guarantee of our civilizational role and set us apart from the divisive idea of Pakistan.

Randeep Surjewala further added that “All Congress leaders must realize this historic responsibility bestowed upon us while choosing words and phraseology to reject BJP’s hatred.

apart from this, Shashi Tharoor has got some support from former Vice-President Hamid Ansari.
“I have not read what he [Tharoor] has said. But he is an educated man, a writer, an MPand heads Parliament’s committee on external affairs. Whatever he says, he will say after thorough consideration,” Mr. Ansari
