The owner and co-founder of giant China’s HNA group died today by falling from a high parapet in southern France, while he was on a tour.

Wang Jian the chairman of China’s HNA group with an age of 57 was taking photographs after being climbed upon a high parapet in the picturesque village of Bonnieux while taking shots he slipped down and fell to death, police said.
It just happened too quickly that even the rescue services could not help him out.

Mr. Wang a successful businessman who with his dedication and efforts made HNA one of the world’s biggest companies in the world, with assets in aviation, tourism, and finance.

The company has its majority of shares in Deutsche Bank, hotel chain Hilton and even in most of the skyscrapers in London. Besides this, the company has more than 400,000 people worldwide as their employes.

 

Currently, China’s HNA group is working on selling down some of its international assets in order to minimize its debts that were built up during a rapid expansion in recent years.

But today after the death of its owner and co-founder, the company by turning its website grey in a gesture of mourning, said that “It had lost an exceptionally gifted leader and role model, whose vision and values will continue to be a beacon for all who had the good fortune to know him”.

Being on a trip Mr. Wang was a part of a group of about 10 tourists who were on a trip to Bonnieux, in the picturesque Luberon area.
During his visit when he was close to the village’s upper church Mr. Wang climbed onto a parapet at about 11:30 (09:30 GMT) to take pictures of the “superb panorama” offered by the Cedres forest.

The police are not taking the death scene of Mr. Wang as suspicious and a local police chief, Hubert Meriaux, said that Mr. Wang was willing to be framed in a shot by his family when he fell.
Although not as well-known as his partner Mr. Chen in media, Mr. Wang’s death has triggered curiosity over China’s internet and social media websites. From now onwards after the death of Mr. Wang the company is under Mr. Wang’s jurisdiction and as soon as the company confirmed the news of Mr. Wang’s death, HNA’s dollar bonds fell.
Though the company’s success and fame is all a result of Mr. Wang and Mr. Chen’s hard work and dedication but still, its future relies on policies of the government.
