UPSC IES Mains 2018 Result is declared for 1st July 2018 written test which as Conventional Type Paper. Prior to that, on 7th January 2018, Preliminary Exam (Objective Paper) was successfully held on 7th January 2018 without any paper leak news. UPSC IES 2018 Prelims Results and Merit List PDF were made available earlier this year on official website www.upsc.gov.in on 17th February 2018.

Last year on 27th September 2018, at the time of the release of Official Notification, Union Public Service Commission clearly notified that there are total 588 vacancies this year. Having job location in India, Engineering aspirants in the age limit 21 years to 30 years applied from 27th September 2017 to 23rd October 2017. As a part of the registration fee, according to government norms, not a single penny is charged from Female/ Scheduled Tribes and Scheduled Caste Candidates. Whereas, Rs. 200/- will be charged from General and Other Backward Class Category candidates.

Experts have suggested that a delay of month or two has been observed in the Mains Examinations this year (the year 2018). Following this, a delay of two months is also expected in the schedule/ date of interview of Indian Engineering Services. But, the interesting part is, the final joining time will remain the same. Expected IES Prelims Cut Off Marks ranges between 225-335 for Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, 220-230 for Electrical Engineering, 220-230 for Mechanical Engineering and 210-220 for Civil Engineering. Whereas, UPSC Mains 2018 Cut Off for Indian Engineering Service Post is 545, 740 and 713 for PH3, PH2 and PH1 categories. Besides, 730, 739, 745 and 787 are the Cut Off Marks for Scheduled Tribe, Scheduled Caste, Other Backward Class and General Category candidates.
