Google Mobile Search Results Will Now ‘Deep Link’ to Facebook App Content

Google, the giant search engine is now capable of indexing the planet’s web data, which means the Google’s search engine gets more relevant which crawl through and index its mobile app. It now allows users to hop over to the Facebook app for finding out everything like a person’s profile and know what’s happening in your ex’s life. You can also get real-world news from around the globe through your Google’s Mobile Search results. Any content which is publicly shared on Facebook can be indexed by Google and show up in search results.

Google indexes Facebook Content

Users could continue to search for public profiles, and the data for these queries would be fetched from the Facebook app. Facebook has announced they will now let Google include search results from Facebook’s app, including all kinds of public posts, notes and events that appear in the app. The announcement was made by a spokesperson of Google’s parent company, Alphabet Inc. on Friday.

Google Search Engine Partners With Facebook

The search engine giant, Google has partnered with the social media giant, Facebook for surfacing the public profile information in the mobile Google searches. This level of deep linking has been unique between the two online giants, Facebook and Google, where the implications are a quite extensive.

Facebook maintains all the user content and assures that no content that isn’t publicly shared will be accessible to and crawlable by Google’s search bots. While searching for information on the Google Search via an Android mobile device, you’ll now be able to find Facebook deep links that take you directly to public profiles, pages, and posts within its app.

Google Search Engine

Until now, Google has not been permitted to link indexed public information from Facebook directly to the company’s mobile app. The move is considered as a gain for Google, whose dominance as a search engine is endangered by the near-monopoly that Facebook has on users’ attention on their smartphones.

Technology is Obsessed By the Idea of App Strategy

Currently, the world of technology was completely obsessed with the idea of apps which are answering to every need of the user. Even, some E- commerce firms went to the extent of going app-only. Flipkart, India’s largest E-commerce firm has launched a Lite Version of their website. Also, the popular E-commerce company, Snapdeal has launched a SnapLite mobile website by competing its rival Flipkart. These websites could be easily accessed via the browser.

Although businesses and services online may certainly deliberate over the opportunity to do away with the infrastructure to manage websites, and drive towards an app strategy, there is still a notable portion of users who proceed to access these services via a browser. It might be either due to limitation or legacy. The limitation could be in the form of a constraint on the storage space which is available on the device or access to a smartphone device.

For platforms such as Facebook and Google, this comes as winnings considering the Android users who have the possibility to switch directly from search results to the Facebook app. Last month, Google had announced that you could get app details via Safari for iOS. This move indicates the social network sees value for now in cooperating with Google, and hopefully this process might route more users to the Facebook mobile app.
