Srinivas and some others were controlling crowds at the main Garbhagudi, located at a height of around 25 feet. He suffered an electric shock when he stepped on a loose wire while trying to drive devotees from a loose cable.

“Suffering shock, he collapsed on the ground. The point where the snapped wire fell was close to a water pond. With the ground being wet, he apparently suffered electric shock again after the fall,” Charminar ACP Ashok Chakravarthy told.

He was immediately rushed to the hospital by hi colleagues but unfortunately the youngster left his breath in the hospital.

Hyderabad Police Commissioner M. Mahender Reddy and South Zone DCP V. Satyanarayana paid homage to the constable at OGH morgue. The policeman’s death came as a rude jolt on the festival day for his family members.
