Both father and son have completed 1091 races of which about 252 races are triathlons and 72 are marathons calling themselves as Team Hoyt. Due to lack of oxygen during the time of birth of Dick’s son, Rick Hoyt he had been affected with cerebral palsy. Since then Rick Hoyt had to lead his rest of his life on the wheelchair as the permanent disorder cerebral palsy arrests the muscle movement making it a challenging task to move ones limbs or various parts of human body. Dick Hoyt made the dream of this son Rick Hoyt come true after he expressed his willingness to participate in a charity 5-mile run for a player who had been left paralyzed in an accident in the year 1977. Although Dick Hoyt aged 40 years then wasn’t physically fit to participate in 5-mile run while he got himself prepared for that so as to fulfill his son’s wish
