Kerala: Student Activist Rapes A Woman Inside The CPIM’s Office

Police Report: A 21-year-old woman said that she was raped by a student activist inside the CPI(M)’s office at Cheruplassery, Kerala. The woman registered a complaint at the Palakkad Police Station and a probe has started.

The 21-year-old woman was traced after the police found an abandoned baby girl on Saturday. She said that the baby was hers, she added that she was raped inside the CPI(M)’s office 10 months ago.

The 21-year-old said that she went to the office to prepare for a college magazine when the incident happened.

One CPI(M) leader said that the 21-year-old is a SFI activist and that her family has close links with the party.

The leader added that they would have started a probe if an incident happened inside their office, the leader added that the police must do a truthful and scientific investigation.

The police said that the 21-year-old woman and the baby have been hospitalized.

Ramesh Chennithala, a Congress Leader attacked the CPI(M) and said, “Party offices of the CPI(M) have become rape centres. I have regret in saying this. But that is the fact. Women are unsafe in Kerala in the LDF regime.”

M B Rajesh, The MP of Palakkad said that the investigation by the police should reveal the truth as early as they can.

The Youth Congress workers protested by taking a march to the CPI(M)’s area committee office.
