The 18-year-old Kerala Girl who was set on fire on March 12 has passed away in Thiruvalla, Kerala.

The teenager had 60 percent of her body burnt after she was set on fire by a man, she was undergoing treatment from a private hospital in Ernakulam.

An eyewitness said that the teenager was set on fire by Ajin Reji, he poured petrol all over the 18-year-old before setting her on fire.

A man who saw the incident caught Ajin as he tried to run away after setting the girl on fire, he was handed over to the local police.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the 18-year-old girl and Ajin both knew each other.

The police said that Ajin and the girl were walking together when suddenly Ajin poured petrol all over her and set her on fire.

Ajin Reji is currently under the custody of the Police, he is now facing relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code. A case against Ajin has also been registered.
