A 19-year-old woman from Shimla said that she was raped inside a moving car, she added that she was walking alone when a car stopped in front of her and forced her to get inside.

The 19-year-old filed a complaint on a helpline number and said that she was raped inside a moving car on Sunday evening.

In her complaint, she said that the incident happened when she was walking near Mall Road, Shimla.

She added that a car stopped near her and forced her to get inside and was raped while it was moving.

An FIR has been lodged at the Dhalli Police Station.

Pramod Shukla, the Deputy Superintendent of Police said that a case has been registered under the IPC (Indian Penal Code) of 376, 354, and 506.

The police said that a probe has been launched for the incident.

The 19-year-old lodged the complaint through a 24-hour open helpline “Gudiya”, a helpline that was launched on January 26 last year. It was made after a minor was murdered and raped in 2017.
