2008 Bhainsa Riot Case: All 9 Accused Of Hindu Vahini Go Scot Free After Court Acquits Them
Adilabad: The Bhainsa case of Adilabad district in which six members of a Muslim family in Vatoli village were burnt alive, was dismissed by the Adilabad District Sessions Court on Monday.
The judge Aruna Sarika invalidated the case against the nine accused related to Hindu Vahini (Hindu Group) due to lack of proper technical and scientific evidence presented by the CB CID.
The judgement reminds of the horrific and brutal incident wherein a whole Muslim family, consisting of six members, including three children, was burnt alive took place in the Vatoli village in Bhainsa Mandal on October 11 night, 2008. The violence had shocked the state and the nation.
Immediately after the incident, communal tension erupted in the area, and authorities issued prohibitory orders in Bhainsa town and its surrounding areas for a few days.
The CB CID sleuths took into custody Jadhav Vinayak Rao, Kunchelwar Nagnath and Shinde Digambar, Kunchel-war Chandrabhanu, Jadhav Vi-nod, Adabagi Chandrakanth, Jadhav Avadooth, Jadhav Baga-Vathrao and Suryavamshi Raman, all residents of Vatoli village for their role in the conspiracy and execution.
The case saw a series of hearings into that horrendous case in the District Additional Court since 2016, and finally, the accused go scot free.
One of the family members, Imran, was shocked to listen to the judgement. “We waited for ten years for justice. We had also demanded a CBI inquiry into the incident, but only the CBCID and state police conducted an inquiry into the incident.” He said they would move High Court against the judgement.
Communal ideologies are being spread by fundamentalist organizations since the BJP came to power at the centre. The government is easily giving a free hand to the criminals, both at the central level as well as at state levels. Humanity loving people need to come forward and pressurize the government to get proper justice for the victims.
