2019 Suzuki Jimny Officially Revealed

After two decades, Suzuki’s most popular old-school body-on-frame 4×4, the Jimny is now ready for the major makeover. The web has been flooded with spy shots and leaked renderings of the upcoming fourth-gen SUV since last year.
Now, Suzuki has announced officially pictures along with select details of the tiny 4×4 SUV that is expected to replace the aging  Gypsy in India.

It is already known that the Maruti Suzuki Gypsy is essentially the second-gen Jimny. New images that are displayed by the company shows that Suzuki has maintained the classic styling of the Jimny’s predecessors with the fourth-gen model as well. Though outgoing version had a few curves and the upcoming fourth-gen has gone back to its boxy root as the new Mercedes-Benz G-Class and 2018 Jeep Wrangler.

The new version of the Jimny features a lot of design elements that seem like the second-gen Jimny a.k.a the Gypsy. if you look at it very closely then you will notice that the new Jimny has a clamshell bonnet like the Gypsy and you can say that The third-gen model had a flatter bonnet that melded into the front fender.

The headlights are circular again, albeit with LED projector lamps and daytime running lamps (DRL). The signature Jeep-like slats continue to find a place on the grill.

In the same manner, tail lamps are placed low on the rear bumper like a Gypsy and the last model of Jimny had a dual setup with lamps on the rear fenders as well as on the bumper, one best thing about this Suzuki Jimny that it is available in 8 colors including three dual-tone options as well .

If you notice the theme of the previous model of Gypsy definitely you find that its theme continues on the inside as well. There are also some ideas that are associated with the new Swift such as the steering wheel, albeit not a flat-bottom unit, and the auto climate control unit as well. Then there are Ignis-like AC vents along with the toggle switches placed below the AC unit.

As assumed that the fourth-gen Jimny continues to be based on a ladder frame chassis, it has three-link rigid axles with coil springs as earlier. The Gypsy used to have leaf springs at the front and rear, so one can expect the ride to be more compliant than the Gypsy.
