400 Tablets Of Methamphetamine Worth Rs. 80,000 Seized From A Bangladeshi National In Kolkata  

On Thursday, the Kolkata Police seized 400 tablets of methamphetamine from a Bangladeshi man, the police said that the tablets are worth around Rs. 80,000.

Tapas Ahmed was arrested by the Kolkata Police after he smuggled the tablets from Burma and was planning to sell them in India.

Tapas Ahmed was arrested from Collin Lane in Kolkata.

The police said that most of his customers were foreigners, he also lived near Marquis Street and Free School Street.

Joint Commissioner Praveen Tripathi said that the police are currently searching for other people who might be involved in the racket.

Commissioner Praveen also added that Ahmed was staying in India without having any proper documents.

A case has been registered against Tapas Ahmed at the Park Street Police Station under relevant sections of the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substance Act and the Section 14 of the Foreigner’s Act, which is for foreigners who are living in India without any proper documents and visa.
