Forget About Drones, How About Building A Working Model Helicopter With Maruthi Engine?
There are no limits for intellectuality, as it is said, creativity is boundless. There are cases of extreme intelligence where people generated electricity by cycling, power generated from thrash and what not! Everything is possible for the human brain.
If there is any limit for science, that might exist virtually inside our thoughts, not inside this 54-year-old Keralite. When asked to make a prototype of a helicopter, this man rather broke the odds and went up making a working model helicopter and all he used is astonishingly a Maruthi engine.
Coming to the story, D Sadasivan, from Kanjirappally, a man who actually had formal education only till Class X and has been running an engineering workshop has now managed to build a chopper in his house’s yard.
And Sadasivan did this unique feat within four years, the chopper is displayed at the private school in Kanjirappally as of now but the first test flight will be conducted in a month.
When asked about the project, he said:
“I began to build the chopper after the school principal requested me to do so. In fact, he wanted me to build only a model of a helicopter to keep it the school. I thought why not make a fully-operational one.”
He says that the spare parts used in building the chooper were made at his workshop in Kanjirappally, and his daughter also studies at the same school. He used the engine of a Maruti 800 and a reduction gear box used for industrial purpose.
“The rest of the parts were made at my workshop in Kanjirappally, the chopper’s interior is made of iron and the exterior of aluminium,” he added.
“I need to get clearance from various agencies for permission to fly. However, before that I can fly the chopper within the limits of the property I own,” said Sadasivan, adding that the glass of an autorickshaw was used as the windscreen of the chopper. He further said that he needs a 30-day time to let his chopper fly.
