Actor Prakash Raj Says PM Modi Is A ‘Bigger Actor’ Than Him, Offers To Give His 5 National Awards To Modi!
India Prime Minister Narendra Modi is one of the biggest inspirations to the youth in the country. He has a huge fan following and there is no dearth of his critics too. For every unfortunate incident or accident, there are many people who demand PM Modi to speak on them.
But Modi is a person who speaks whenever he feels to do so and sometimes he remains calm and silent as well. This silence sometimes leads to big extents. This time, it is troubling an established multi-lingual actor so much that he has called PM Modi a bigger actor than himself.
National Award winner and actor Prakash Raj on Monday spoke about Gauri Lankesh’s murder and made some comments on Narendra Modi over his “silence”. Stating that PM Narendra Modi is a ‘bigger actor’ than him, he has also threatened to return his five National Awards.
On Sunday, actor Prakash Raj, whom we have mostly seen in negative roles, expressed his anger as he was not happy with PM’s silence over the matter of journalist Gauri Lankesh’s murder. For Prakash Raj, PM Modi’s silence over his followers’ rejoicing the murder of Gauri Lankesh is an “actor trying to please his followers”.
Addressing at the 11th state meet of Left-oriented Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) held in Bengaluru, Prakash Raj said,
“Gauri’s killers have not been caught yet. But what is more disappointing is people celebrating her murder over social media spreading hatred. Some of these people who celebrated her (Gauri’s) murder are followed by our Prime Minister (Narendra Modi) on Twitter. We have a PM who shuts his eyes to this. This is what worries me, where is our country is headed to?”

Right after the murder of his close friend Gauri, he had said,
“I knew Gauri for 30 years. In a sense, we were all children of (P) Lankesh, her ideologies, and way of life. I never dreamt that this day would come. We were taught to be honest citizens, who would never seize to raise one’s voice. In fact, I don’t think anyone voiced their opinion more than P Lankesh himself. This was how we were taught to be. It is astonishing to see where we have come to today.”
He further added, “I am worried about the PM’s silence. Is he trying to endorse cruelty espoused by some of his followers.” In fact, he also asked to return his five national film awards as he feels that PM Modi can do better acting than him and hence, he should be given those awards.
However, Twitterati didn’t like Prakash Raj’s statements and slammed him for criticizing PM Modi.
Twitter Reactions:
