Amazon Fares Well On Its First Day Of ‘Great Indian Festival Sale’, OnePlus, Xiaomi Witness Record Sales

Amazon India on Wednesday accomplished the first day of its launch of Great Indian Festival 2018 sale. At the end of the day, the company said that it saw a total of 30 times growth in its average business per day. The sale was mainly driven by categories like refrigerators, dishwashers and washing machines among others. This time, the American company introduced some of the most attractive deals on smartphones that availed Xiaomi an opportunity to sell more than a million devices within a single day of sale, while OnePlus reported to have received a record-breaking pre-booking of its soon-to-be launched OnePlus 6T. The notable point is that the US-based e-commerce company claimed that Amazon Prime members were the ones that shopped more during the Prime Early Access than on any previous day. The premium service comes at a monthly charge of Rs. 129 and an annual charge of Rs. 999. The sale includes the Prime Day that the company conducted specially for all its paid members back in July this year.

Moreover, Amazon went on to claim that two of its client sellers, OnePlus and Xiaomi experienced their “biggest single-day sales ever on Amazon.in” and this was all done on the first day of its Great Indian Festival 2018. While this is a fact that Xiaomi gained heavily with one-day huge sales of more than a million devices, OnePlus claimed that it has seen a record bookings of about Rs. 400 crores for the OnePlus 6T. Along with them, Samsung too witnessed 12 times more sales compared to average business days’ sales with the Galaxy S9 Rs. 42,990 and Galaxy Note 8 Rs. 43,990 as the best sellers. In a similar way, Motorola also claimed that it has seen a whopping 36 times more sales compared to regular day’s sale in just 36 hours since the e-commerce marketplace started the Early Prime Access at exactly 12 pm IST (Noon) on Tuesday.

Getting into the details of growth in its Prime membership during the sale, Amazon said that it has increased more than two times in the total number of Prime members joining the premium service during the early access period over last year. But the company did not go into the details of the total number of new Prime members. The company also said that the Prime members shopped almost three times more make-up and grooming related products due to the offers of up to 70 percent discount.

Select products have the facility of being shipped within two days of order availed exclusively for Prime members by Amazon. The company claimed that there was a total of 57 percent of Prime members during the early access period in the ongoing sale in metros and about 49 percent of members across the whole country who shall get the shipments done for their orders with the span of two days.
