Mahindra Group Chairman Anand Mahindra’s Reply To Donald Trump’s Scheme Is Winning The Internet
The relationship between India and United States of America is quite appreciable as far as Obama’s reign is concerned, the situation has changed now, many political leaders believe that the international ties of any country with America might be deteriorated referring to the foreign policies of the newly elected president, Donald Trump.
His new move is taking people by surprise. The slogan “Buy American, Hire American” vision, seems to be soon going to be fulfilled as the government is deliberating on a proposal which may result in large-scale deportation of Indians from the US. The proposal which is being shared as a memo in the Department of Homeland Security.
This scheme can potentially stop foreign workers from keeping their H-1B visas while their green card applications are pending. On a whole, this is going to affect lot many Indians working in America especially in IT sector because they won’t be any more able to keep their H-1B visa while their a Green card is pending which is necessary for a permanent residency.
The existing rules allow the administration to extend the H-1B visas beyond the allowed two three-year terms if a green card is due for approval. Coming to stats, it is believed that an estimated 50,000- 75,000 Indian H-1B visa holders will be deported back to the country and more than 7,00,000 Indians career will be distorted in some or other way.
Following the same, the Software industry body Nasscom has reportedly flagged its concerns around visa related issues in the US with the senators, congressmen and the administration, and will engage further in a dialogue over the next few weeks over the proposed legislation. Back then, during the election campaign, Trump openly criticised China and India and accused both nations of snatching away the jobs of his country people.
While the news is causing certain disturbances in the families of Indians living in America, it is the chairman of Mahindra Group Anand Mahindra’s strong message on Twitter that induced positivity at the crisis. The business tycoon, on Wednesday morning, said that if Indian techies are sent back home, they will actually help India Rise.
He wrote, “If that happens, then I say ‘Swagatam, Welcome Home.’ You’re coming back in time to help India Rise…”

The report was quoted saying, “the act currently allows the administration to extend the H-1B visas for thousands of immigrants, predominantly Indian immigrants, beyond the allowed two three-year terms if a green card is pending. The idea is to create a sort of ‘self- deportation’ of hundreds of thousands of Indian tech workers in the United States to open up those jobs for Americans.”
Well, on the other hand, India now has to prepare vacancies for the plethora of people who are going to head back soon enough.
