Deepawali or Diwali is certainly the biggest and the brightest of all Hindu festivals. The day is primarily celebrated to commemorate the happy return of Lord Rama from his 14 years of exile. It is a festival of lights and festivities. However, there are various other stories associated with the festival.
Diwali is celebrated on a new moon night sometime in the months of October and November. It comes off about twenty days after Dussehra and shows the advent of winter. The exact day of the festival is decided according to the Hindu calendar. And this year Diwali falls on Sunday, October 30th, 2016.

And, as the title of this article suggests, mentioned below are remedies that one must adhere to, to impress goddess Lakshmi, if Diwali falls on a Sunday and how to achieve immense prosperity in life.
Remedy 1
Early in the morning, in the north-east area of your home, draw Shree Yantra on a copper plate, bronze plate and Birch bark, and perform Laxmi puja. This will get you lifelong glory, and honor.
Remedy 2
During Diwali pujan, keep few ‘Kaudis’ (Cowrie) painted saffron and turmeric, and tied in yellow cloth in front of Laxmi idol. After the commencement of puja, keep this bundle inside safe or vault. Doing this will never let you see poverty.
Remedy 3
On the night of Diwali, after puja, draw the Laxmi yantra on a white blank paper with a red ink and keep in front of Laxmi idol. Prepare 100 small dough balls with a mixture of flour, ghee, sugar and milk; feed them to fishes before sleeping.
Remedy 4
For the whole night, keep ‘Hatha Jodi’ in front of Laxmi idol, and chant this mantra- “Om Shree Laxmi Dhanam Dehi”. It will rip off any evil eye on your destiny and you would never face financial shortage.
Remedy 5
Inside ‘puja ghar’ at your home, establish the existence of Goddess Laxmi symbols- Kamalgatte ki mala, Laghu nairyal (small coconut), Dakshinavarti Shank, Shvetark Ganapati, Sree Yantra, Kubera Yantra, Dhan Lakshmi Yantra, Mahalakshmi Yantra on a Sunday and duly worship these elements everyday. Goddess Laxmi resides in these elements, thus she will never leave your home.
Remedy 6
Diwali falling on a Sunday is an auspicious opportunity to ward of Sadhesati, Dheya, and any kind of dosha. Place cotton wicks dipped in black sesame seeds and mustard oil in an earthen diya and light it in front of ‘Shami plant’, while chanting Shani Mantra- Om Pram Prim Praum Sah Shaneshcharay Namah |
Remedy 7
If Diwali is falling on a Sunday, then it is advised to light up cotton wicks dipped in red-color (Abeer) and place them in earthen diyas, around the house.
Remedy 8
On the night of Diwali, place 5 Gomti Chakras in the puja thali and chant the following mantra 108 times on jaap mala, after the commencement of puja- ‘Om Vae Arogyanikari Rog Nashesha Namah’. Goddess Laxmi blesses with a healthy body and wards of any ailment persisting in home.
