Police Report: On Tuesday, 45-year-old Gurbaksh Singh, an assistant sub-inspector in the Punjab Police committed suicide after killing his wife by using his service gun in the district of Jalandhar.

SHO Sewa Singh of Rama Mandi Dakoha said that 45-year-old Gurbaksh Singh lived in Rama Mandi and was posted as a sub-inspector in Jalandhar City. The incident happened in their home in Rama Mandi.

Preliminary investigations showed that the wife of Gurbaksh wanted the family to settle in a foreign country.

41-year-old Vandana wanted Gurbaksh to move in Canada with their family, but the assistant sub-inspector wanted to stay in India.

SHO Sewa Singh said that Gurbaksh and Vandana have 2 kids who are 19 and 17 years old.
