Asus ZenFone To Launch Its 5Z 8GB RAM, 256 Storage Variant For The First Time In India Today
Asus ZenFone 5Z (8GB RAM/256GB Variant) is slated to be launched for the first time in India today. The product will go on sale on e-commerce site Flipkart. The flagship Asus smartphone, earlier, was launched in India this month but that was only of 6GB RAM/ 64GB storage and 6GB RAM/ 128GB storage variants.
The main highlight of this smartphone is its top-end Snapdragon 845 SoC, besides its 19:9 display with a notch and its dual rear cameras. It was at first inaugurated at MWC 2018. The colors available for Asus ZenFone 5Z will be Meteor Silver and Midnight Blue variants.

The price of the Asus ZenFone 5Z price in India begins with Rs. 29,999 for the variant of 6GB RAM/64GB storage while the variant with 6GB RAM/128GB storage comes at a price of Rs. 32,999 and the newly launched 8GB RAM/256GB inbuilt storage variant comes at a price of Rs. 36,999. The company has launched offers on Flipkart, which also include Rs. 2000 discount if payment is done through Axis Bank credit and debit cards and an extra 5 percent off with Axis Bank Buzz credit card and a special Rs. 2,200 cashback offer from Reliance Jio with an additional data plan of 100GB on the Rs. 198/299 recharges.
Asus Zenfone 5Z Specification details
Asus ZenFone 5Z is supported by a dual-SIM (Nano) and dual-VoLTE and runs ZenUI 5.0. Android 8.0.0 Oreo (out of the box) has been chosen as the OS for the phone along with Android P update in the pipeline. The smartphone comes with 6.2-inch full HD+ (1080×2246 pixels) Super IPS+ display with an 18.7.9 aspect ratio. The display is made safe through Corning Gorilla Glass protection. The phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC, which is paired with an Adreno 630 GPU and up to 8GB of RAM. UFS 2.1 storage goes up to 256GB and is expandable via microSD card (up to 2 TB).
Apart from all these, there is a vertically stacked pair of cameras on the back of the ZenFone 5Z. The rear camera comes with a 12-megapixel Sony IMX363 primary sensor, with f/1.8 aperture and support for OIS, and a secondary 8-megapixel OmniVision 8856 sensor with the focus being fixed, f/2.2 aperture, and 120-degree wide-angle lens. The cameras at the rear are coupled with a single LED flash. The front camera comes with an 8-megapixel fixed focus OmniVision 8856 sensor for selfie-taking as well as video calls. The selfie camera has got a support for Face Unlock too.
Speaking over the connectivity terms, the Asus ZenFone 5Z comprises of 4G VoLTE, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11ac (2.4GHz/5GHz), NFC, Bluetooth v5.0, FM radio, USB OTG, GPS/ A-GPS, GLONASS, Beidou, USB Type-C (Gen1), and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The details of sensors onboard are an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, electronic compass, gyroscope, fingerprint sensor, RGB sensor and proximity sensor. The battery has a capacity of 3300mAh underneath the hood with a good support of Quick Charge 3.0; the handset comes with bundles 18W charger. Weighing 165 grams, the phone’s dimensions are 153×75.6×7.7mm.
