Bengaluru: 4 Youngsters Including A Woman Arrested For Kidnapping And Assaulting Their Employer

Police Report: The police arrested 4 people which includes a woman for kidnapping and assaulting their employer for not giving them their severance pay after they were terminated from his company.

Police Inspector M. Diwakar said, “We have arrested the accused on a complaint made by their employer S.K. Sujay who said that he was abducted and assaulted by them for not giving severance pay after they were terminated from his start-up company, which was shut down due to huge financial loss.”

23-year-old Sujay is the co-founder of SGL Software Ltd.

The police have arrested Rashmi, Vishwa, Sanjay, and Likith under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code for the crimes of assaulting, abduction, criminal intimidation, and wrongful confinement.

The police said that the incident happened on March 21 but was reported to the police on March 31, Sujay filed a complaint against the 4 youngsters at the Halasuru Police Station.

Inspector Diwaker added, “Though Sujay named seven employees in the complaint, we arrested 4 on April 4 and sent them to 14-day judicial custody, we are on the hunt to nab the other three – Darhsan, Rakesh and Tanzeem.”

After Sujay was asked about why he reported the incident to the police 10 days after it happened, he said that he was admitted at a hospital and had to go to Chennai after the accused released him.

Sujay added that the youngsters also warned him that they will not spare him if he did not pay them or if he would report the incident to the police.

Sujay claims that he took 30 sleeping pills as an attempt to commit suicide.

Inspector Diwaker said, “Although Sujay paid salary to the accused till they were terminated from service, he could not pay them the severance package as his company was in loss due to business disruption.”
