In Sikar, Rajasthan, a newlywed bride was kidnapped by her former lover just 15 minutes after she was married.

Officials said that the bride was kidnapped on Wednesday at a gunpoint near Rambakshpura at Sikar, around 15 minutes after the wedding.

The police have arrested 5 people who they believe are involved in her kidnapping.

Sonu Kanwar and Hansa Kanwar were married on Tuesday to 2 brothers who are from Nagwa Village.

And on Wednesday, 15 minutes after the couples left the bride’s home in a vehicle, Ankit Sevda, the former lover and few other men attacked them and kidnapped Hansa Kanwar.

The men also assaulted Sonu Kanwar when she resisted.

More than 100 people were seen protesting against the incident in Dhod, the protest was led by BSP Assembly Lawmaker Rajendra Singh Gudha.

Lawmaker Rajendra Singh Gudha said that they held a protest outside the home of the Collector and added: “this will be an indefinite sit-in until the accused is arrested and the bride rescued.”
