BSNL FTTH Broadband Plans Get Revision Of Offers Up To 3.5TB Data To Counter Jio GigaFiber

In what seems to be an attempt to take on Jio GigaFiber, BSNL FTTH (Fibre to the Home) broadband offers have been revised by the company to allow more data at faster speeds. Registration for it had already started recently on August 15. Among premium offers, BSNL has upgraded high-speed fibre range of plans – namely the offers that comes at prices as Rs. 3,999, Rs. 5,999, Rs. 9,999, and Rs. 16,999. BSNL has also increased the limit caps for download limit along with the plan speed for these four. The plans that have been revised will become effective all over India (Where there is a coverage by BSNL) starting September 1, 2018. On the other hand, Jio GigaFiber plans have not been revealed as of now.

Let’s see what new revisions have been done to BSNL’s FTTH plans as it was reported firstly by Telecom Talk. The offer with price Rs. 3,999 has got a new download limit of 750GB with speeds of up to 60Mbps, and post-FUP speed will come down to 4 Mbps.

The offer with price Rs. 5,999 FTTH plan is now available with 70Mbps data access speeds with a cap limit of up to 1,250GB for the whole month. Post-FUP speed will come down to 6Mbps. In the previous plan, the same plan was available with 1,000GB of data at 60Mbps download and upload speeds. And regarding the high-ranking plan of Rs. 9,999, now the same is available with 2,250GB of data access at speeds of more than 100Mbps when compared to 2000GB at 80Mbps in the recent revision. Post-FUP speed comes down to 8Mbps.

At last, the highest and premium FTTH broadband plan which is priced at Rs. 16,999 is now available with a humongous data limit of 3,500GB or 3.5TB at speeds of more than 100Mbps. The last revision had the offer of 3TB of data at 100Mbps.

DTH service provider Tata Sky too had launched in late August its high-speed broadband service to counter Jio GigaFiber’s upcoming wider public release. The speeds offered by Tata Sky will have a range of 5Mbps and 100Mbps with unlimited Internet access.

As there were many players in the market, the cost of data too was high, but as soon as Jio launched its data services, many different players either began to suffer or countered the offer by Jio to take on with their own new offers. In the same way, now, there seems to be a war for broadband services after Jio came up with its proposed broadband services.
