Celebrities Pour Warm Wishes On Deepa Malik’s Historic Paralympic Silver Win

India’s Deepa Malik, who plays shot put, today has created history by winning the Silver Medal in the Paralympics. Deepa Malik has become the first-ever Indian woman to win a Paralympic medal.

Deepa bagged a silver medal in the shot put the F-53 event in Rio. Deepa’s best throw of 4.61m from her six attempts was selected for the Silver medal. Deepa is a paraplegic, paralysed from the waist down and she is the mother of two.

Her life took a turn when her spinal tumour made walking impossible when she was 17. The spinal tumour had to be operated and 31 surgeries were conducted on Deepa which was healed after 183 stitches between her waist and legs.

Despite all obstacles, she has made the Indian people feel proud of her. She is really a true inspiration for many of us. Let us congratulate Deepa Malik for her hard work behind winning a Silver medal for the Country.

Thus, Former Indian Cricketer Virender Sehwag’s parody account took to Twitter to congratulate on her Silver medal. Many other celebrities joined to wish Deepa.
