Chhattisgarh: 9 People Injured After An IED Was Used To Blow Up A SUV

Police Report: On Wednesday, 9 people attained serious injuries after Naxals used an Improvised Explosive Device to blow up a SUV in the district of Bijapur, Chhattisgarh.

Govardhan Ram Thakur, the Superintendent of Bijapur Police said that the incident happened on Wednesday evening near the village of Peddakodepal. The vehicle was traveling to Dantewada.

Superintendent Govardhan said that all the passengers in the SUV including its driver attained injuries from the blast.

He said that they rushed to the scene when they were informed about the incident. They rushed the 9 people to the nearest hospital, one of the passengers is currently in a critical condition.

The Bijapur Police think that rebels might have planned to attack any passing by security vehicle but mistakenly attacked the SUV that was full of civilians.
