The viral video shows a Chinese mother kicking her daughter who is a model, in the bum because she was too tired to perform for a photo-shoot.

Niu Niu, the minor in the video, has worked as a model for a couple of brands in Hangzhou, they were doing a photo-shoot when the incident was filmed.

The mother is now being asked to apologize for what she did, the incident happened in Hangzhou, China.

In a post, the mother of Niu Niu said, ‘I had no intention of harming or abusing her, and I’m sorry for any misunderstanding my exaggerated actions may have caused. I want to reiterate: my daughter receives the utmost care and love.’

The mother added, ‘Thank you for your understanding.’

The video was posted on Weibo, a social media platform in China, and caused outrage with many calling the incident as “Child Abuse”.

The advertising laws of China prevent companies from using kids that are under 10-years-old as spokespeople, and all the money Niu Niu has made is given to her parents.

Lawyer Wang Nan for the All-China Women’s Federation of Hangzhou said, ‘This is not a question of whether it’s child labour; we’re looking at the nature of the case. ‘Are you preventing her from having a regular childhood? Has this affected her right to education? And so on.’
