Cisco To Help Telangana Build Digital Zone Smart City In Hyderabad

News, Hyderabad: Cisco Systems, a global leader in networking, on Thursday announced that it will deploy City Digital Platform (CDP) in Hyderabad. The platform, to be deployed in 2.2 km area near Hi-Tech City, will include smart Wi-Fi, smart parking, smart lighting and traffic analytics at key junctions.

The US-based technology major Cisco signed an MoU with Telangana government for undertaking a slew of initiatives which include deployment of Digital Zone smart city project and a center of excellence (CoE) and living lab in T-Hub-a technological incubator.

Cisco will also help remote education in 10 schools in Karimnagar, and deploying digital solutions to enhance the experience of visitors to the historic Qutubshahi tombs near Golconda.

The IoT centre will provide a platform for start-ups, accelerators, developers, researchers and the venture community to build products.

“Cisco will set up virtual video-based classrooms in 10 remote schools in Karimnagar district for inter-school learning.

“The solution will connect the district school to remote schools for sharing of faculty,” said Dinesh Malkani, President of Cisco (India and SAARC).

The company will also digitise the historic Qutub Shahi Tombs in the city, providing Wi-Fi, smart parking, lighting and surveillance at the monument.
