CM Yogi attracts criticism for Refusing Cap at Kabir Mausoleum
Recently Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath came into a news frame for refusing to wear a skull cap at saint Kabir’s mausoleum in Maghar. According to our sources, Adityanath had arrived in the town on Wednesday to look after the ongoing preparations for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit in Maghar on Thursday.
On visiting saint Kabir’s mausoleum, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was offered a skull cap by the caretaker. But as soon as the mausoleum caretaker Khadim Hussain raised his hands to place the cap on’ Yogi Adityanath’s head, his action of offering the cap was politely declined by the Chief Minister. Though Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath declined the skull cap offering by Hussain still he agreed to have a photo taken down with khadim holding the skull cap.
CM Adityanath’s refusal of wearing the skull cap made several other leaders of the opposition to say that with this action Yogi Adityanat was trying to divide the society on basis of religious and cast lines. Samajwadi Party spokesperson Sunil Sajan said that “it was a cap of Kabir but CM must have misunderstood it. “…heights of hypocrisy it is, such people should not go the Kabir dhaam.”
Regarding this Congress leader, Pramod Tiwari shared his brief thoughts and said that the cap which was offered by Khadim Hussain in Kabir dhaam doesn’t belong to any particular caste or religion and was meant to show some respect to the tomb. He further added “A CM has to take everyone together. If someone is offering you a cap, page, it is just a gesture to show respect. People occupying top offices have to take everyone together.”Amidst of all this Mohsin Raza whois, the lone Muslim minister in the UP Cabinet came forward to Adityanath’s defense and straightaway questioned the intentions behind offering caps to leaders.
He said,“By offering him a cap and when he refuses to wear it, what message you are trying to send? I am Muslim but I never wear a cap. Does this mean I am not a Muslim? Has he (Yogi Adityanath) committed a crime by doing so? Who told you to make him wear a cap? Why don’t you go to a temple, stand with people there, congratulate them? Change your thought.”
A similar kind of activity took place sometime back In 2011 when Narendra Modi was the Chief Minister of Gujarat and he refused to wear a skull cap in Ahmedabad as the skull cap was offered to him during a fast for social harmony and peace.
Besides the skull cap declination news, our sources even said that the head of Kabir tomb in Maghar raise an objection regarding PM Modi’s visit to the place
